Maitland Hospital is a major Rural Referral Hospital providing services to the expansive Lower Hunter Region. Having opened its doors on a new facility in January 2022, the hospital provides a broad range of services in a comfortable and modern workplace.

What You'll Be Doing

To deliver high quality anaesthesia services to the patients of the Hunter New England Area, whilst undertaking continuing professional development activities within the aim of obtaining the Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. This is a great opportunity for fellow to become generalist within the expanding space of regional and rural anaesthetic departments.





MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of AustraliaCompletion of minimum of 4 years clinical experience in an accredited training position in Anaesthesia recognised by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and successful completion of all elements of Advanced TrainingSuccess in the Final Fellowship examination of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists OR equivalent overseasDemonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal, appropriate for an anaesthetistDemonstrated ability to function harmoniously, efficiently and effectively as part of high-performing teamDemonstrated capacity to work independently, and exercise initiative and judgment in prioritising time and resourcesDemonstrated commitment to scholarship, including learning and teaching, and an understanding of the role of the clinical review process, audit and research in anaesthesiaAn interest in a specific area of the specialty for further development
