St Joseph's Primary School, Charlestown is seeking a Permanent Full time Primary Coordinator to join the team from January 2027. St Joseph's Primary School, Charlestown aims to provide quality Catholic education by creating a learning community committed to ensuring every child is given the opportunity to achieve their very best within the classroom. The school’s unique lush bush setting provides a stimulating environment for children to learn and play and gives them the opportunity to develop an awareness and appreciation of the environment.

The school is purpose-built to facilitate team teaching and gives teachers the opportunity to work collaboratively in their planning and delivery of learning. The recent refurbishment of existing facilities means the school community is equipped with modern and engaging learning environments to allow the delivery of a comprehensive curriculum. The large open plan classrooms are equipped with interactive SMARTboards, iPads, laptops and wireless internet to deliver a contemporary learning approach and help students with learning difficulties.

The Primary

Coordinator works in collaboration with the school leadership team and colleagues to promote the school as a place of learning and excellence. As a member of the school leadership team, they are entrusted with the responsibility to assist students in making sense of their world, to make informed decisions and judgements, and to act with moral and ethical integrity.

Across the school they will:

- develop, implement and oversee the school’s strategic learning initiatives - support the monitoring and review of school improvement initiatives - support the monitoring and review of school compliance - lead, model and support the ongoing development,



implementation and oversight of quality teaching programs and learning outcomes - model and promote contemporary and innovative pedagogical practices - contribute to the development of a culture of collegiality and reflective practice - support individuals in identifying new learning experiences to support their continued professional development - know their students and strive to provide engaging learning that supports student wellbeing The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes. The teacher will acknowledge and agree to the requirement to work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

Skills and Experience EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA - Must be Catholic with an ability to articulate a explicit understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools - Ability to promote and support staff to develop innovative and effective teaching and learning practices across each KLA - Demonstrated management and administrative skills to ensure assessment, and teaching and learning programs operate effectively and efficiently - Demonstrated capacity to effectively utilise data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes, to think and act strategically, and to support the Leadership Team in leading the mission of the school - High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop and sustain constructive and respectful relationships within and beyond the school community - Demonstrated experience in leading successful school initiatives (Desirable)



- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team teaching environments - planning, delivering and reflecting on effective learning programs alongside colleagues to enhance student outcomes (Desirable) QUALIFICATIONS - Four-year trained teacher classification with at least four years successful teaching experience consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers - NESA Teacher Accreditation - Working with Children Clearance number - Completion of anaphylaxis training - Postgraduate study in education (e.g. Master of Educational Leadership, Theology) (Desirable) - Working towards Highly Accomplished or Lead Teaching Standards (Desirable) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Salary is in accordance with Current South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
