About ACT Health Centre
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward whichoperates24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health,pharmaceuticaland physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles.
Standard hours of operation aregenerally 0800-1600Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groupsrequiredfor weekend and on-call shifts).
This role is Monday, Thursday and Fridays, we may have some flexibility in days.
What you’ll do
Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members
C onductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care .
U ndertaking assessments, in tervention s, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount
What you bring
Unrestricted AHPRA g eneral registration as a Psychologist
Minimum two years’ Post Graduate experience within last five yearsin mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ asperMedicare Schedule
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance
