NSW Minerals Council is seeking a highly organised, motivated and proactive professional to join our Policy Team as Program Coordinator - Education & Outreach. You'll have the autonomy to coordinate a statewide careers outreach program while identifying new opportunities to expand its reach and impact.

Mining is a vital NSW industry, employing thousands of people in highly skilled roles and supplying the minerals and energy that underpin modern life. NSW Minerals Council works closely with schools, universities, industry and government to raise awareness of the rewarding study and career pathways available within the sector.

About the role

Reporting to the Policy Manager, Industry Skills and Careers, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of NSW Minerals Council's Industry Skills and Careers Program across metropolitan and regional NSW. This is a diverse role that combines project coordination, stakeholder engagement, event management and continuous program improvement. You'll manage a busy annual calendar of education initiatives while ensuring every activity is delivered professionally, efficiently and with exceptional attention to detail.

Success in this role requires someone who is self-motivated, enjoys working independently, and takes pride in seeing projects through from concept to completion. You'll be encouraged to contribute new ideas, identify opportunities for improvement and help shape the future direction of the program.

Whether you're coordinating attendance at a careers expo, presenting to students,



analysing program outcomes or developing new engagement opportunities, no two weeks are the same.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate and deliver a statewide program of careers and education outreach initiatives in collaboration with the Policy Manager
- Ensure programs and initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and to a consistently high standard
- Build strong professional relationships with schools, careers advisers, universities, training providers, government and NSW Minerals Council member companies
- Represent the NSW mining industry at careers expos, school presentations, industry events and school workshops across NSW
- Coordinate industry participation, including volunteers, presenters and partner organisations
- Prepare high-quality communications, promotional materials and program resources
- Collect program performance data and prepare reports that support continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to expand and enhance the reach and effectiveness of the Industry Skills and Careers Program
- Resource coordination and administrative support for careers programs

About you

You're someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work and is known for getting things done. You have exceptional organisational skills, naturally think ahead and are comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities without losing sight of the details.

You enjoy building relationships, communicating with a wide variety of people and are equally comfortable presenting to students,



liaising with senior stakeholders or working independently to deliver projects.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Qualifications in education, communications, science, project management or a related discipline
- Experience in education, stakeholder engagement, communications, project coordination or a similar role
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer literacy, preferably with experience using Google Docs and online design and survey platforms
- A commitment to delivering high-quality work and continually improving programs and processes

Additional requirements

- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Working With Children Check
- Ability to travel regularly throughout regional NSW, including overnight travel
