The Project Administrator will provide high-level support to the project management team, ensuring that fire service installations in commercial developments are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Australian Standards (AS 1851/AS 1670). You will act as the central point of coordination between stakeholders, contractors, and site requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Coordination: Developing, reviewing, and negotiating variations to project programs and service delivery schedules.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Working closely with Project Managers, Architects, Engineering Professionals, and Building Owners to ensure all project milestones and technical goals are met.
- Contractor Oversight: Monitoring the progress of work performed by sub-contractors and reporting on any deviations or variations from the original work orders.
- Data Analysis & Schematics: Collecting and analyzing project data derived from electrical schematics and site reports to ensure technical accuracy and project alignment.
- Compliance & Documentation: Updating and maintaining critical project documentation, including Fire Zone Block Plans, Evacuation Diagrams,
and technical CAD drawings to reflect "As-Built" status.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinating the commissioning phase of systems and managing the administrative reporting of fault-finding and repair cycles.
- Resource Management: Planning project phases and developing detailed administrative plans to ensure resource efficiency and adherence to timelines.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience within Fire Services or Building & Construction sectors.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, architectural drawings, and fire service levels to facilitate project flow.
- Project Administration: Proven experience in managing project changes, variations, and clear communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional leadership and teamwork skills with a reputation for being reliable, punctual, and accurate in reporting.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with project coordination tools and document control systems.
