Our Jacobs Heritage ANZ team brings together experienced consultants working across Australia in Aboriginal archaeology, historical archaeology, maritime and underwater archaeology, interpretation, and built heritage.

…then this is the place to broaden your expertise, deepen your impact and build a career that evolves with you! Here's what you'll need To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Registration as a Victorian Registered Heritage Advisor, with the qualifications and experience required to lead fieldwork in accordance with the current Minister’s Guidelines; or working towards Heritage Advisor status.
- An Honours or postgraduate degree in archaeology, heritage management, or a related discipline.
- Approx. 3–6+ years’ consulting experience, with a focus on Aboriginal heritage in Victoria (additional experience outside Victoria and/or in historical heritage is advantageous).
- Working knowledge of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation, associated regulations, and guidelines (experience outside Victoria is beneficial).
- Experience contributing to Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs) and delivering high-quality heritage advice.
- Solid research, fieldwork, and site analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities In the Project Archaeologist / Heritage Advisor role, you will:
- Lead small to medium heritage projects (i.e. high-level advice and CHMPs), including fieldwork and reporting.
- Support senior team members on larger and more complex projects.
- Prepare heritage reports and assessments, with appropriate guidance and review.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
