Position
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Engineer to join our growing team based at our Victoria branch in Melbourne.
The Project
Engineer position is a senior role focused on overseeing and managing engineering projects from initiation to completion, and will be responsible to manage designer, and fabricator, coordinating technical tasks, and ensuring project milestones are met. The ideal candidate shall have a strong engineering background, and a deep understanding of project execution principles. This role involves strategic engagement with OEMs, EPCs and end-users, with the goal of growing AFH’s engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Project
Initiation and Proposals
Support quotation preparation by problem-solving and providing technical clarifications.
Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical and commercial input.
Handle requests for quotations and ensure timely, accurate responses.

Execution
Verify equipment designs to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Manage document control processes, including approval cycles and scheduling.
Prepare project-related reports (e.g., design review minutes, project plan updates).
Coordinate activities with sub-vendors and maintain technical alignment.
Monitor assigned project budgets and highlight any deviations from scope.
- Inspection, Testing, and Quality Control
Manage and witness inspections and testing activities.
Provide support in resolving fabrication, assembly, and testing issues.
Communicate timely and accurate technical information to manufacturing staff through schedules and documentation.
- General
Contribute actively in staff meetings and departmental discussions.
Demonstrate commitment to the Integrated Management System (IMS) by participating in audits, workplace visits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or similar).
8+ years’ experience in project execution in Oil & Gas or associated industries.
Proficiency in understanding rotating equipment, pumping systems, compressors, and engineered packages. Familiarity with API 610, API 685, and API 675 standards is a must.
