Job Description
About the Role
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking an experienced School Psychologist to join our Student Care team on a full-time, six-month contract.
Working as part of a collaborative team, the School Psychologist will provide professional psychological support, assessment, consultation, and intervention to students.
The role will include:
- Providing psychological support to students experiencing personal, emotional, social or academic challenges
- Conducting psychological assessments, developing appropriate interventions, and supporting student case management
- Supporting students with a range of mental health and wellbeing needs, including risk assessment, crisis support, and referral pathways
- Collaborating with the Student Care team, Heads of House, teachers, senior leaders, and external health professionals
- Providing specialist advice to support inclusive educational practices, including Individual Learning Plans, Access Arrangements, and Reasonable Adjustments
- Contributing to student wellbeing initiatives, psychoeducation programs and presentations for students, staff, and parents
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
You are an experienced psychologist who is passionate about supporting young people and contributing to a proactive, student-centred approach to wellbeing.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
- Demonstrated experience providing psychological services to children and young people
- Experience in psychological assessment, intervention, and case management
- A sound understanding of adolescent development, mental health, and wellbeing
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- The ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism, integrity, and discretion
- A cooperative approach and the ability to work effectively within a small specialist team.
Experience working within a school workplace, particularly supporting adolescent girls, will be highly regarded.
