The Position

This is an excellent chance to join a leading regional referral hospital in Queensland as a full-time, permanent Paediatrician Staff Specialist.

As a senior member of the Paediatrics team, you will provide high-quality clinical care across general paediatrics, with a focus on the acute assessment and management of children.

The role will provide the opportunity to contribute to the management of general paediatric inpatient services, including:

- General paediatric inpatient care
- Acute paediatric presentations
- Paediatric ward rounds and clinical management
- Patient flow and coordination of care
- Collaboration with Emergency Medicine, Paediatric inpatient services and other specialties
- Discharge planning and coordination with local and regional healthcare services
- Ward service and acute paediatric on-call responsibilities
- Supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and trainees

The Facility

The hospital is a major regional referral and teaching hospital,



providing specialist healthcare services to a large population across Central Queensland and surrounding regional communities.

The facility provides a broad range of specialist medical and surgical services, including Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Surgery, Anaesthetics and many other specialty areas.

As a major regional referral centre, the hospital manages a diverse range of clinical presentations and provides an excellent environment for Paediatricians seeking broad clinical experience.

Requirements

Applicants should:

- Hold FRACP, or
- Hold postgraduate qualifications and experience in Paediatrics that meet RACP requirements for practising in this position, or
- Hold NZ RACP, or
- Be an IMG whose Paediatric training has been assessed by RACP with a Substantially Comparable outcome
