We're seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a collaborative Finance team. You'll be responsible for management of the payroll function, including the accurate end-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll for more than 250 employees.

This is a varied role that combines payroll, finance administration and process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, compliance and teamwork are highly valued.

About the Role

Payroll Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Awards, EBAs, superannuation, payroll tax and other statutory obligations.

Supporting payroll system enhancements, testing, business projects and process improvement initiatives.

Partnering with Finance, HR and operational stakeholders to deliver a high-performing payroll function.

End-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll for 250+ employees, including

Process new starters, employee changes and terminations

Manage leave, overtime, allowances, deductions and payroll adjustments

Respond to payroll enquiries professionally and confidentially

Maintain payroll procedures, documentation and process improvements

Perform other payroll-related duties as required

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work,

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Demonstrated experience in a senior payroll processingor similar payroll leadership position

At least 3 years' experience managing end-to-end payroll within a medium to large organisation

Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll compliance

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with payroll systems

High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability

Outstanding organisational and time management skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships

A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset

The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
