Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.
The Executive General Manager Power Services provides strategic leadership of the organisation's power network, generation and engineering services, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of electricity across the Northern Territory. The role drives long-term network and asset strategies, operational performance, capital investment and service excellence, while leading engineering, network planning, maintenance, regulatory compliance and business improvement functions. As a key executive leader, you will help shape the Territory's energy future by delivering creative, ground-breaking solutions that enable the transition to renewable energy while maintaining system reliability in some of Australia's most challenging and remote operating environments.
We are seeking an exceptional executive leader who combines strategic vision with deep operational expertise in power systems, engineering and asset management. Ideally bringing experience from the Australian utilities or energy sector, you will have a proven track record of leading complex infrastructure portfolios, driving operational excellence and delivering outstanding customer and community outcomes.
You are a forward-thinking leader who embraces innovation, leverages data and emerging technologies to inform decisions, and can navigate the opportunities and challenges of the energy transition. With highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, you build trusted relationships across government, regulators, industry and communities, influencing outcomes and delivering results in complex environments.
Most importantly, you will inspire high-performing teams and lead transformational change, balancing reliability, safety and affordability while helping shape the future of energy through innovative solutions and increased renewable energy integration in some of Australia's most unique and challenging operating environments.
Power and Water values diversity and inclusion. Therefore, under an approved Special Measures Plan, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) applicants will be given priority selection, provided they meet all essential selection criteria and are suitable at the level commensurate with the position.
Power and Water Corporation is responsible for electricity transmission and distribution and provides water and sewerage services across the Northern Territory, an area of more than 1.3 million square kilometres.
Power and Water also supplies electricity generation and retail services to 72 remote communities through its not-for-profit subsidiary, Indigenous Essential Services Pty Ltd (IES).
As one of the largest employers in the Northern Territory, Power and Water is contributing to the Northern Australia Development plan. We have some 940 staff living and working in the Northern Territory, including over 107 relief and fulltime contracted Essential Services Operators living in remote Indigenous communities who are supported by the corporation’s Remote Operations' team.
