Project Engineer - Facilities Upgrade Program We’re looking for Project Engineers to support a programme of facilities upgrade works across Alcoa sites in Western Australia. These roles will manage renovation and upgrade works for existing non-process infrastructure facilities, including offices, crib rooms and administration facilities, as well as the establishment of recent support facilities in line with contract scope. Based at Pinjarra, Wagerup or Huntly, you’ll work closely with the Facilities Program Coordinator and client stakeholders to safely deliver scopes of work to agreed quality, cost and schedule requirements.
What you’ll do - Demonstrating full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety leadership to project team - Managing scope, cost, schedule for the defined area of responsibility, and ensuring change management is applied.
- Applying knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering and design, procurement, quality control, etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project scope.
- Managing construction contractors to efficiently execute the works.
- Tracking cost and schedule and using analytical skill to forecast trends - Manage execution, coordination,
and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress - Develop action plans to address project tasks and issues - Effectively communicate and take a leadership role in preparing and presenting proposals and reports to staff and management.
- Manage customer representatives and other significant stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks or new risks as the project progresses and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans About you - 3+ years experience in a relevant field. Previous site experience will be viewed favourably.
- Experience with planning and estimating facilities upgrade and new facilities works.
- Experience on project delivery in the execution phase, coordination of procurement activities and management of construction contracts in the building sector. Familiarity with required building standards and laws, including National Construction Code 2022.
- Experience in the supervision and management of project delivery personnel along with the ability to coordinate works in remote locations.
- Able to be based in Pinjarra, Wagerup or Huntly location (3 days per week minimum). Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
