Project Lead – Western Queensland Stigma Reduction Project

Lives Lived Well is seeking applications from current employees for the role of Project Lead – Western Queensland Stigma Reduction Project.
This exciting internal opportunity will lead the next phase of our work to reduce alcohol and other drug (AOD) stigma across Western Queensland. Building on the success of our previous stigma reduction initiative, the project aims to improve community understanding of AOD issues, reduce discrimination, encourage help-seeking behaviours, and strengthen connections between communities and support services.
Working collaboratively with communities, stakeholders, service providers and people with lived experience, the successful applicant will help drive positive change and contribute to improved health and wellbeing outcomes across the region.
About the Role
As Project Lead, you will coordinate and deliver project activities across Western Queensland, working closely with local clinicians, community members and key stakeholders to achieve project objectives and outcomes.
The position
Is a 0.8 FTE fixed-term role until 30 June 2027
Can be based from a Lives Lived Well office, home office, or a combination of both
Requires travel throughout Western Queensland,
including occasional overnight stays
Involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the health, community and social services sectors
Works closely with local clinicians to support engagement, project delivery and community outcomes
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and delivery of the Western Queensland Stigma Reduction Project.
Coordinate community engagement, education and awareness activities across the region.
Build on previous project findings, recommendations and stakeholder relationships.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community groups, service providers and other key stakeholders.
Promote evidence-based, person-centred approaches to alcohol and other drug education and awareness.
Champion the use of non-stigmatising language and practices within community and service settings.
Facilitate lived experience participation and co-design activities to inform project planning, delivery and evaluation.
Deliver health promotion and harm reduction initiatives that support increased community understanding of AOD issues.
Monitor project outcomes and support data collection, evaluation and reporting requirements.
Contribute to project governance, funding acquittals and other reporting obligations.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve project objectives.
About You
We encourage applications from employees who can demonstrate:
Experience in project coordination, community engagement, health promotion or service delivery.
Knowledge of the alcohol and other drug, mental health, public health or community services sectors.
Solid communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and coordinate activities across geographically dispersed communities.
A commitment to improving health outcomes and reducing stigma in regional and remote communities.
Knowledge of Western Queensland communities and/or experience working in rural and remote settings will be highly regarded.
