The Opportunity
Join a well-established heavy industrial operation for an initial 6-month contract. Working within a live operating environment, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering a brownfield project while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational continuity and stakeholder engagement.
This opportunity is ideally suited to those who enjoy the execution of projects, offer hands on management of sub-contractors, and can coordinate across operational and maintenance departments to schedule packages or work.
The Role
You'll manage the delivery of a $3mil-$5mil capital project across a live operational setting within a time sensitive period.
Typical responsibilities will include
- Developing project scopes, work packs and technical documentation.
- Preparing project schedules and coordinating activities around live operations and planned shutdowns.
- Engaging, coordinating and managing contractors throughout project delivery.
- Monitoring project progress, schedule, costs and project risks.
- Managing project budgets, forecasting and cost control.
- Ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards, permits and site procedures.
- Coordinating internal stakeholders across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and HSEQ.
- Managing project reporting and providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
- Driving projects through to practical completion, commissioning and handover.
About You As an experienced Project Manager,
you will be able to demonstrate the successful delivery of Capex and sustaining capital projects within heavy industrial environments where safety, planning and stakeholder management are critical to success.
You will ideally possess
- Demonstrated Project Management experience within mining, bulk materials handling, ports, manufacturing, power generation, steel, cement, chemical processing or similar heavy industrial environments.
- Strong experience managing brownfield projects in live operating facilities.
- Experience developing project scopes, schedules, contractor work packages and procurement activities.
- Proven ability to manage contractors, budgets, schedules and project risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
Qualifications We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including:
- Mechanical, Electrical or Fabrication Trade qualifications
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil)
- Engineering Diploma
- Construction Management Degree
- Equivalent project delivery experience
