An exciting opportunity has become available for a Publications Specialist to join a highly regarded organisation on a 12-month contract. Working within a collaborative Product Support team, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical publications and illustrations that support engineering, maintenance, and sustainment activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a robust background in technical publications and Adobe Illustrator who enjoys working closely with engineering teams to produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical documentation.
About the Role
- Create, review, publish, and maintain technical publications in both electronic and paper-based formats.
- Develop technical illustrations and visual content using Adobe Illustrator to support engineering and maintenance activities.
- Produce a range of technical documentation including operation manuals, troubleshooting guides, illustrated parts breakdowns, installation procedures, and training materials.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Work within recognised technical publication standards, including S1000D where applicable.
- Support ongoing product support and sustainment activities while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
About You
- Previous experience in technical publications within the defence, aerospace, or a similar engineering environment - Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills with the ability to produce detailed technical illustrations - Experience creating technical manuals, procedures, and supporting documentation - Exposure to S1000D or similar technical publication standards - Exceptional attention to detail with strong written communication skills - Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or 3D visualisation software will be highly regarded - Experience interpreting engineering drawings or CAD files is advantageous - Security Requirements Due To the nature of this position, applicants must be Australian Citizens. An active NV1 Security Clearance is highly desirable. Candidates who are eligible to obtain an NV1 Clearance.
