Role: Mobile Quality Engineer Lead (Automation) – Digital Platforms

Role Overview

- We are looking for a highly experienced Mobile QE Lead who can drive end-to-end quality engineering outcomes across complex digital ecosystems.
- The ideal candidate will possess robust technical depth in Mobile and API automation, lead quality strategy across multiple squads, drive shift-left practices, and influence stakeholders to achieve quality, automation, and release objectives.
- This role requires a hands-on leader who can seamlessly balance technical excellence, delivery ownership, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Test Leadership

- Own and drive E2E Quality Engineering strategy across multiple mobile and backend platforms.
- Define and implement scalable testing approaches covering functional, integration, API, performance, accessibility, and E2E testing.
- Lead quality governance across multiple delivery teams and ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Drive shift-left testing practices including requirements reviews, testability assessments, unit test coverage reviews, and quality risk identification.
- Establish and continuously improve quality metrics, coverage, and automation effectiveness.
- Design and implement scalable Mobile Test Automation frameworks using Appium.
- Drive automation coverage for iOS and Android applications.
- Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor engineers on automation best practices, test architecture, and framework enhancements.
- Define strategies for improving automation reliability and reducing flaky tests.

API Testing & Automation

- Build and maintain API automation frameworks using industry-standard tools.
- Define contract testing, service virtualization, and API mocking strategies.




- Drive API-first testing approaches to enable shift-left quality practices.
- Establish quality gates for services and integrations.
- Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, MCP Servers, and GenAI solutions to improve QE productivity.
- Identify opportunities for AI-driven test generation, test maintenance, defect triage, reporting, and quality analytics.
- Drive measurable outcomes through AI adoption within the QE practice.

Stakeholder Management & Delivery

- Lead E2E testing across multiple squads, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Drive defect triage, risk management, release readiness, and production validation activities.
- Influence engineering teams, product teams, architects, and leadership to improve quality outcomes.
- Own quality sign-off and provide clear recommendations for release decisions.
- Lead, coach, and mentor QE engineers across onshore and offshore teams.
- Build a high-performing quality culture focused on automation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure adherence to QE standards and practices.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

- 10+ years in Quality Engineering with at least 3+ years in a QE Lead role.
- Strong hands-on experience in Mobile Automation using Appium.
- Strong API Automation experience using Rest Assured, Karate.
- Deep understanding of automation architecture, framework design, and CI/CD integration.
- Experience implementing shift-left testing practices.
- Strong understanding of service virtualization,



API mocking, and contract testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation challenges including flaky tests.
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and device farms
- Practical experience leveraging AI tools for Quality Engineering.
- Demonstrated examples of measurable productivity improvements through AI adoption.
- Understanding of contemporary engineering practices and quality observability.

Leadership & Delivery

- Proven experience leading quality initiatives across multiple agile teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience driving E2E testing in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional discussions and align multiple teams towards common outcomes.
- Strong communication and executive stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with large-scale digital transformation programs.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven ecosystems.
- Experience working in high-volume customer-facing applications.
- Performance and security testing exposure.
