As a State Capability Officer [AO6], you’ll contribute to state-wide capability development initiatives that support frontline volunteers and staff across Queensland. Working closely with operational subject matter experts, regional teams and stakeholders, you’ll help shape training programs, frameworks and learning solutions that make a genuine operational difference.

Your Key Accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

- Build and manage relationships between stakeholders and engage in a continual process of identifying business requirements, dependencies and risks.
- Manage and co-ordinate the financial,



procurement and administrative activities of Capability Development programs and initiatives to ensure effective service delivery.
- Prepare executive briefings, submissions, reports, and other correspondence, and present to senior management and stakeholders.
- Analyse, develop and implement processes, work procedures, system improvements and service expansion that ensure successful service delivery.
- Consult and negotiate with internal clients and external agencies and foster productive networks and partnerships and to further enhance the understanding, commitment to and achievement of emergency response objectives and best practice.
- Contribute to organisational projects and change management activities, relative to capability development initiatives to ensure staff and volunteer trainers have current knowledge of, and access to recent courses and/or changes to existing programs.
- Coordinate, manage and report on state-based capability development to gauge the effectiveness of state-based capability and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Role Requirements

Mandatory: Minimum C Class Driver's Licence (non-restricted).

Qualification: Nil

Other

- This is a designated SES uniformed position.
- Capacity to work on night and weekends to suit an SES volunteer environment.
- It is expected that the incumbent will participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster during emergency operations. This may require work outside of normal hours [e.g. night shift], including weekends, working extended hours and may include travel to rural and remote communities, intrastate or interstate travel as necessary and/or deployment activities to other parts of the state.
