Location: Melbourne About You You are a seasoned regulatory/compliance lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.
Your Experience & Expertise: Experience as a financial services compliance/regulatory lawyer, ideally gained in private practice, in-house, or within a financial services organisation
Demonstrated experience advising on compliance obligations in a financial services environment
Ability to identify, interpret and apply legal and regulatory obligations relevant to financial services businesses
Strong knowledge of the Corporations Act, particularly as it relates to financial services, corporate conduct, disclosure, governance and compliance obligations
Experience documenting compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, controls and obligation registers
Ability to implement compliance frameworks in a practical business environment, including working with operational teams to embed legal and regulatory requirements
Experience advising internal stakeholders on regulatory risk, compliance breaches, remediation issues and governance processes Your Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex legal and regulatory issues quickly
Commercial judgement and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
Proactive and solutions-focused approach to legal and compliance issues
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Adaptability and confidence operating in a fast-moving financial services environment Requirements: Current Australian practising certificate
