About this opportunity

Join a team dedicated to maintaining some of the region's most valued parks, gardens and recreational spaces.

As a Parks Maintenance Officer, you'll undertake a variety of horticultural, landscaping and grounds maintenance activities while helping to preserve and enhance Council's parks and open space assets. No two days are the same, with opportunities to work across a variety of sites and projects throughout the Mackay region.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Maintaining parks, gardens and open spaces through mowing, pruning, weeding and general horticultural activities.
- Operating and maintaining a range of small and large plant and equipment.
- Conducting inspections of park infrastructure and reporting maintenance requirements.
- Cleaning, maintaining and repairing park facilities and amenities.
- Using technology to manage work orders, communications and data collection.
- Working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality outcomes for the community.

About You

We're looking for reliable and motivated team players who enjoy outdoor work and take pride in delivering quality results.

Essential Requirements

- General Construction Induction Training (White Card).
- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
- Medium Rigid (MR) Licence.
- Experience operating and maintaining plant, equipment and power tools used in grounds maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.





Highly regarded

- Experience in horticulture, landscaping or parks maintenance.
- Experience operating mowers, tractors, brush cutters and other maintenance equipment.
- Chemical Accreditation, Chainsaw, Pole Saw or horticultural qualifications.
