Position Title HR Truck Driver & Plant Operator Location This role is based in the South-West region of New South Wales, with work completed in Narrandera, Leeton, and potentially Griffith. The project is currently located in Griffith.
Position Purpose The primary purpose of this role is to operate trucks and plant equipment on infrastructure construction projects within the South-West region. The position involves driving various plant machinery, undertaking labouring tasks, and supporting construction activities to ensure effective project delivery. The role contributes to the safe and effective execution of civil works undertaken by the organisation, adhering to relevant safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities - Operate HR trucks in accordance with safety regulations and project requirements.
- Operate a variety of plant equipment including loaders, rollers (multi, padfoot, smooth drum), and mixers.
- Support construction activities by undertaking labouring tasks as needed.
- Travel between work sites in Narrandera, Leeton, and Griffith, including camping away from home at times; lodging arrangements to be made through provided camp facilities or self-accommodation when based at the depot.
- Comply with site safety, environmental, and operational procedures at all times.
- Participate in inductions and safety meetings to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Complete relevant documentation and reports related to plant and truck operations.
- Assist with project logistics and support work crews as directed by supervisors.
- Meet all licensing and certification requirements, including maintaining valid tickets and licences.
Key Skills & Experience - Hold a valid HR Drivers Licence or above.
- Possess a White Card and WOF (Warrant of Fitness).
- Demonstrate plant operation experience, particularly with loaders, rollers, and mixers.
- Willingness to obtain required tickets such as TC (Transport Compliance) if not already held.
- Proven experience operating plant equipment with a good safety record.
- Ability to undertake manual labour and work collaboratively within a construction crew.
- Must be flexible to work a 9-day fortnight, with an average of 8.5 hours per day (76 hours per fortnight).
- Current police check, with the understanding that the candidate may start prior to receipt, subject to suitability.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Valid rights to work in Australia, with proof provided upon onboarding.
