The Position The Research Software Analyst (RSA) supports the design, development and delivery of high-quality digital research solutions within the HASS Digital Research Hub (HDRH). The role works closely with researchers, project teams and stakeholders to translate research requirements into robust, sustainable software and technical workflows. This includes developing and maintaining research software, supporting data integration, and contributing to reproducible and scalable research practices.

The position also contributes to project delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives, providing technical expertise, documentation, and user support, while promoting best practice in research software engineering.

The Person The successful candidate will have: Demonstrated experience in software development (e.g. Python, R, JavaScript or similar) Experience working with research data, digital tools, or computational workflows Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate user needs into technical solutions Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders An understanding of reproducible research practices, version control, and software sustainability The ideal candidate is adaptable, user-focused, and motivated to support research impact through technology. The School/Department The HASS Digital Research Hub (HDRH) supports digital research across the College of Arts and Social Sciences by providing expertise in research software, data, and digital methods.

The Hub works collaboratively with researchers to deliver innovative,



sustainable and impactful digital research projects. The College/Division The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is a leading centre for research and education in the humanities, creative arts, and social sciences.
