Research Physician - Oncology

As our Cancer Trials Unit continues to grow, we're looking for a Research Physician with experience or a strong interest in Oncology to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to pivot your medical career into research while remaining hands-on in patient care and contributing to a meaningful impact in cancer research. You'll work alongside experienced investigators, nurses, and clinical trial professionals in a highly collaborative environment, helping to deliver cutting-edge oncology and haematology studies that improve outcomes for patients.
Your Role in Our Future
As a Research Physician, you'll provide expert medical care and oversight for participants enrolled in innovative cancer clinical trials, ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout the research journey. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll assess and monitor participants, support recruitment and eligibility decisions, contribute to the successful delivery of cutting-edge oncology and haematology studies, and uphold the highest standards of clinical quality, compliance and patient-centred care.
Some of your duties will include;
- Assess potential participants and determine eligibility for innovative cancer clinical trials.
- Provide expert medical oversight and manage participant safety throughout study participation.
- Partner with leading clinicians, research teams and sponsors to deliver world-class cancer research.
- Support multidisciplinary decision-making and contribute specialist oncology expertise.
- Drive quality, compliance and continuous improvement across clinical trial activities.
This role will be based at our Advanced Clinical Trial Centre in Nedlands and can be offered on a part-time (0.6FTE) or full-time basis.

About You
You'll be a medical practitioner who is passionate about patient care and interested in contributing to the advancement of cancer treatment through research. You may already have experience in Oncology, Haematology or clinical research, or you may be looking to apply your clinical expertise in a research-focused environment.
You'll bring
- A medical degree and current AHPRA registration.
- Experience working in hospital and/or clinical research settings.
- Experience or a strong interest in Medical Oncology and/or Haematology.
- Excellent clinical judgement and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
