An experienced Safety and Training Coordinator is required to support underground mining operations by driving safety performance and workforce capability. This role coordinates training, ensures compliance, and promotes a strong safety culture across the site.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain site training systems and compliance records
- Schedule and track mandatory training, VOCs, and refresher requirements
- Deliver site inductions and support onboarding processes
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs
- Support supervisors with competency management and workforce development
- Monitor compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
- Participate in audits, inspections, and safety initiatives
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate training matrices and documentation
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments
Qualifications
- Experience in a Safety and Training role within underground mining
- Strong understanding of mining safety systems and compliance requirements
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
- Experience using learning management or training systems
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively across all levels
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work FIFO roster (e.g. 2/2 or 8/6)
