About the Position
As the Groundsman and Facilities Support person, you will be responsible for maintaining the condition and appearance of lawns, gardens, and gardening equipment of the CDU Campus in Alice Springs. The CDU grounds incorporate pathways and walkways, lawns and gardens, an accommodation area, carparks, and outdoor study areas.
As part of the Campus Facilities team, you will be required to support the campus facilities team in order to keep the campus facilities operating effectively for both students and staff. This includes supporting administrative functions and equipment maintenance.
After-hours work is part of the role and will be undertaken as required.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- Demonstrated ability and experience in general grounds maintenance work, including the operation of equipment/tools.
- Strong work ethic, including demonstrated commitment to providing a high level of customer service and working within workplace health and safety policies.
- Positive interpersonal, communication and work management skills, including accuracy and attention to detail in a busy environment with constantly changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products and relevant industry software and programs and digital work order programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and associated Australian Standards and Codes of Practice including Work Health and Safety.
- Ability to organize and plan grounds maintenance needs and requirements
- Ability to work outdoors and physically fit
- Commitment to the University’s values.
- Hold, or have the ability to obtain, a High-Risk Licence (Forklift)
- Poisonand/or Chainsaw ticket is advantageous
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance. Must hold a current NT Driver’s Licence
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 3. The base salary will be $69,445 per annum with the total remuneration package being $81,250 per annum,
inclusive of 17% superannuation.
