The Organisation The hiring school is a mid-sized girls' private school in Melbourne, servicing a highly educated and affluent community. The Role The Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the school operates safely, legally, and in line with best-practice governance standards.

The role provides both strategic advice and day-to-day operational management of the School's compliance, risk, policy, governance, and occupational health and safety (OHS) frameworks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance & Governance

- Manage the School's compliance framework, including VRQA obligations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and maintain compliant policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Coordinate policy reviews, compliance reporting, audits, and registers.
- Escalate key compliance issues to senior leadership.
- Deliver compliance training and maintain staff training records.
- Promote a continuous improvement of the School's work health & safety culture.

Risk Management




- Manage the School's risk management framework.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, regulatory, and emerging risks.
- Manage risk assessments and incidents reporting for school activities and programs.
- Develop risk management controls and reporting framework with stakeholders.
- Prepare risk reports for leadership, committees, and the Board.
- Maintain risk management plans and promote best-practice risk management across the School and sector.

About You

- Risk & compliance or OHS practitioner with 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the Education sector.
- Must hold, or be willing to acquire a Working with Chicken Check.
- Hold and maintain current First Aid qualifications (HLTAID009, HLTAIDO11 or equivalent).
- Hold and maintain current Anaphylaxis & Child Safety trainings.
