Responsibilities

- Assist theatre staff to transport patients within the Operating Suite from Reception and Day Stay Unit to the appropriate Theatre, Recovery, and Reception for discharge.
- Assist with preparations of the Operating Room table and its attachments for varying surgical procedures.
- Ensure adequate equipment is present for each Operating Room.
- Work with the Nurse Managers and colleagues to provide optimal service to all customers, including patients, VMOs, and nursing staff.
- Participate in the Surgical Services Department and hospital staff meetings and education programs.
- Continuously update knowledge in new treatments, practices, and equipment to ensure the delivery of the highest standard of care.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements in relation to Workplace Health & Safety, Bullying & Harassment in the Workplace Policy.
- Comply with the requirements of the WH&S; Act and all relevant WHS, and injury management policies and procedures.





Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous hospital or Operating Room experience.
- Commitment to attending conferences and lectures as identified as requirements for this position.
- Knowledge of the Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Australian or Current Zealand citizen or hold an Australian visa that grants you the work rights necessary for the role.
