Due to continued growth at Pallas Capital, an exciting prospect has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at our Sydney Head Office in Double Bay.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, controls, and operational finance across multiple entities within the Pallas Group.

The successful candidate will be required to work from the office five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare bank reconciliations for various entities.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including analytical commentary and variance analysis.
- Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes across multiple entities.
- Ensure general ledger integrity, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting workpapers are complete and accurate.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate external reporting requirements.
- Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS return.
- Review interest calculations, loan positions, and reconciliations.
- Act as a primary contact for external auditors and assist in audit delivery.
- Prepare audit schedules, respond to queries, and ensure timely completion.




- Support BAS/IAS preparation and other tax compliance requirements.
- Ensure processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial processes.
- Ensure documentation of policies, procedures, and workflows is up-to-date.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices.
- Escalate issues proactively and support resolution.

About You

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in accounting, ideally within financial services, funds management, or lending, with exposure to trust accounting and multi-entity environments.
- Experience with audits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong experience with accounting systems (e.g. MYOB, Acumatica, Xero or equivalent).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and control‑focused mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a rapid‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
