We are currently seeking a part-time Safety and Compliance Officer to join our team based in Bunbury, working between 20 and 25 hours per week.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being both in the office and out on site, connecting with people, and helping teams work safely through practical guidance, transparent communication, and consistent follow-up. You will thrive in this role if you are organised, adaptable and confident working across varied environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, you will drive the development, implementation and continuous improvement of WHS, risk, compliance and quality systems across the organisation.

You will own and drive the organisation’s risk and assurance framework, ensuring strong governance, audit readiness, and legislative compliance across all departments.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the Bunbury Turf Club operates safely, meets all regulatory obligations, and maintains a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

As a Safety Officer, you will:

· Support management and employees with the implementation of HSE and compliance systems, policies, and plans.

· Lead or support incident investigations and ensure actions are completed to prevent recurrence.

· Assist with safety and compliance audits, contributing to practical and sustainable improvements.





· Maintain organised and accurate safety documentation and reporting.

· Travel occasionally to participant homes to conduct risk and safety assessments.

About You

· Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and incident management.

· Proven experience in policy development, audits and continuous improvement.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with leadership and different departments.

· A commitment to person-centred care and a values-driven approach.

Requirements

· Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.

· Previous experience in incident investigations, audits, or HSE system implementation.

· Full working rights in Australia.

About us The Bunbury Turf Club is one of Western Australia's premier thoroughbred racing and training precincts. The Club conducts over 23 race meetings a year, predominantly on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the Bunbury Cup on a standalone Saturday in March. The training facilities are open 6 days a week for local participants to access in support of running their respective businesses. The Club also operates various function areas for both race-day and non-race-day events.
