OT Team Lead — Arnhem Land, Northern Territory: Senior Occupational Therapist | Team Lead

Our multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists fly together to the most remote corners of East Arnhem Land, delivering culturally responsive, practical, and life-changing care. We work alongside families, local services and community leaders to help each person live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced senior Occupational Therapist to step into a Team Lead position — a role that combines hands-on clinical practice with leadership, service development, and team support.

You will travel by road and small aircraft to homelands and remote Indigenous communities, delivering services that genuinely matter — while helping to shape and strengthen the OT service from within.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support the OT team, including clinical supervision, onboarding, and professional development
- Plan, implement, evaluate and report on OT service delivery across East Arnhem Land communities
- Conduct comprehensive functional assessments across home, school and community settings, with particular attention to the cultural, physical and emotional needs of Yolu clients
- Develop practical, goal-directed intervention plans targeting daily living, community participation and independence




- Deliver culturally responsive services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, working in partnership with families, interpreters and local stakeholders
- Provide capacity-building interventions targeting cognition, executive functioning, sensory processing, motor planning and daily living skills
- Drive quality improvement activities and contribute to clinical governance and policy development
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to case conferencing and service planning
- Prepare high-quality NDIS reports, AT justifications, functional assessments and clinical documentation

Salary + Superannuation (Full-time, HP Level 3.1 – 3.5)

$112,711 – $125,496 base rate + superannuation

Total salary package: $126,236 – $140,555

Plus:

- $5,000 sign-on bonus
- Up to $10,000 relocation assistance (via NTPHN)

Who We're Looking For

- Australian citizen or permanent resident — applications from other visa holders will not be considered
- Current AHPRA registration (Occupational Therapy) — mandatory
- Minimum 2 years NDIS experience
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or leadership capacity within an OT or allied health team
- Confident working autonomously in complex, resource-limited environments
- Experienced in NDIS functional assessment, AT prescription, and funding report writing
- Passionate about culturally respectful, community-embedded practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- A solid communicator who builds long‑term relationships with clients, families and community stakeholders
- Adaptable, resourceful and calm under pressure
