About the Role
As the Content Lead you will be the driving force behind AFLW storytelling, creating authentic, engaging and impactful content that strengthens connections with our audience, elevates the profile of women's football, and celebrates the Geelong Cats community.
Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute AFLW content strategies aligned to club objectives, audience needs and seasonal priorities;
- Build and manage content calendars across AFLW digital channels working closely with the Senior Digital Coordinator;
- Contribute to audience growth, engagement and brand development strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on the campaign ideation to execute consumer and commercial products organically.
Content Creation & Production
- Capture, produce and edit engaging digital content including video, photography and social-first assets;
- Manage content production from concept through to delivery;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop content that supports football, commercial, membership and community priorities.
Publishing & Optimisation
- Own the publishing and day-to-day management of AFLW digital channels;
- Monitor content performance and audience behaviour, using insights to optimise future content;
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to improve engagement, reach and audience growth.
Match Day & Event Coverage
- Lead AFLW content delivery on match days, training sessions and key club events;
- Capture and publish organic content in fast-paced environments;
- Travel with the AFLW program as required to support content coverage and storytelling opportunities.
About You
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in content, social media, content marketing and/or digital production role.
- Demonstrated experience creating and executing successful content strategies across digital and social platforms.
- Understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement and content performance metrics.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on content creation and execution.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness and flexibility to work match days, evenings, weekends and travel as required.
