Recruiting Brief｜Project Delivery Director (Energy Storage)

Lead the regional project delivery team

Role Overview

You will oversee end-to-end delivery of large-scale BESS projects across Australia. Cover pre-sales technical & commercial support, full-lifecycle project governance, local compliance framework establishment, as well as team leadership and cross-functional alignment. You own the delivery performance, timeline, cost, quality and safety of all regional energy storage assets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead pre-sales strategy for large and C&I; BESS clients. Develop delivery strategies and bidding solutions aligned with state policies, grid codes and compliance requirements. Drive high-level technical & commercial negotiations, support sales to lift project win rates.

- Full-lifecycle Project Delivery Management

Take overall ownership of 100MWh+ energy storage projects. Manage the complete workflow from supply chain coordination, site construction, commissioning, grid connection through to handover for operation. Establish delivery systems, schedules, cost, safety and quality standards; resolve critical cross-team project bottlenecks.

- Local Compliance System Establishment

Build Australia-focused BESS delivery compliance frameworks. Master differentiated regulations, grid standards, safety and environmental rules across VIC, NSW, QLD and WA. Liaise with grid operators, regulators, third-party supervisors and government bodies to mitigate regional compliance risks.





Lead delivery team recruitment, development and performance management. Collaborate closely with sales, legal, supply chain and government relations teams. Identify delivery risks in advance, design contingency plans and ensure stable execution of regional project clusters.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years end-to-end delivery experience on ≥100MWh BESS projects, including minimum 1 year relevant Australian project delivery experience. Track record of multi-project portfolio management and compliance setup preferred.
- Fluent skilled English for executive negotiations, stakeholder engagement, formal documentation, and meetings. Ready for long-term placement in Australia with frequent interstate travel.
- Deep understanding of Australian state grid connection rules, construction safety codes, and foreign investment project compliance. Proven capabilities in multi-project governance, cost control, risk assessment, and cross-department problem resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Project Management, or Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
