The Akron Group NT is a rapidly growing, innovative and market-leading contractor delivering construction, infrastructure and asset maintenance projects throughout the Northern Territory.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Site Foreman to oversee multiple construction projects across Kakadu National Park.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional seeking a lifestyle change without committing to a full remote roster. Based in Jabiru from Monday to Friday, you will lead multiple projects across Kakadu National Park while enjoying company-provided accommodation and the flexibility to return to Darwin each weekend—or stay and enjoy the region if you prefer.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of multiple construction projects located throughout Kakadu National Park.
As the primary site representative, you will provide clear direction to subcontractors and trades, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with the approved Scope of Works, Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, project specifications and programme.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong construction knowledge and the ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and multiple construction trades.
- Provide daily instruction and direction to site personnel based on the Scope of Works and IFC drawings.
- Ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to a high standard of quality.
- Monitor project progress against the construction programme and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
- Conduct daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and site inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation, environmental requirements and project management plans.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Coordinate deliveries, plant, equipment and site logistics.
- Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, progress photographs, quality inspections and reporting.
- Identify and resolve site issues before they impact project delivery.
- Maintain clean, organised and professional work sites.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
- Minimum 2 years' experience supervising commercial, government or residentrial construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and IFC documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Robust problem-solving ability with a proactive approach.
- Experience delivering projects in remote or regional locations is highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and quality management systems.
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Current White Card.
- Current NT Driver Licence (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
- Ability to travel between project sites throughout Kakadu National Park.
DIDO Roster & Accommodation
This is a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) position based in Jabiru, servicing multiple construction projects throughout Kakadu National Park.
We offer a genuine work-life balance with a consistent Monday to Friday roster.
Monday to Friday site-based role.
Accommodation provided in a fully furnished company house in Jabiru.
Drive from Darwin on Monday morning and return home on Friday afternoon.
Alternatively, employees are welcome to remain in Jabiru over the weekend if preferred.
Company vehicle provided for work-related travel between project sites.
Work on some of the Northern Territory's most unique and rewarding construction projects.
