The Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Officer to support complex procurement, contracting and commercial management activities within a Defence capability program. This role requires a commercially focused professional who can provide strategic procurement support, contract management expertise and commercial advice while working across complex technology and communications capability environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support contract management activities including supplier performance reviews, contract variations, performance reporting and contract change proposals.

• Develop and review procurement and contracting documentation, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth and Defence procurement frameworks and governance requirements.

• Provide commercial advice on procurement strategy, contract performance, risk management and compliance matters.

• Support procurement activities including solicitation documentation, market approaches, evaluation activities and stakeholder engagement.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful capability outcomes.





Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in commercial management, procurement or contract management roles.

• Demonstrated experience supporting Defence or Commonwealth procurement and contract management activities.

• Solid working knowledge of ASDEFCON documentation and Australian Government procurement frameworks.

• Experience supporting acquisition, sustainment or procurement activities associated with SATCOM, space systems, communications architectures, terminal systems or other complex Defence technology capability programs.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Essential Requirements

• Current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance. • Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Contract Management, Business or a related discipline. • Ability to work onsite in Canberra.
