Key Responsibilities You will supervise and manage the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles at designated school crossings in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. A strong focus on safety, awareness and consistency is essential in supporting students, families and other crossing users. You will monitor traffic conditions, identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to maintain a safe crossing environment.

The role requires attentiveness, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and professional in varying traffic and weather conditions. You will build positive relationships with school communities, members of the public and Council staff while representing the City of Boroondara in a professional and courteous manner. You will also participate in required training and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.

Requirements - Ability to instruct and direct users of school crossings in a safe and professional manner

- Valuable verbal communication skills including basic English
- Ability to build rapport with school communities and all school crossing users
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Flexibility to take up duty at various school crossings throughout the municipality as required
- Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check, pre-employment medical assessment and hold a valid Working with Children Clearance.
