About the Role

The role of the Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is to develop, establish and monitor maintenance schedules ensuring effective use of labour, materials, equipment, tools and plant, maximising locomotive, and wagon availability to meet operational requirements. This role is based in Mackay, QLD.

Key Responsibilities

- Estimate the human resource, materials, parts, tools, equipment and other requirements for rollingstock maintenance in QLD.
- Analysis of maintenance needs, customer contract requirements, operational plans, engineering reports and other information to estimate timelines for processing of materials, parts, tools and assemblies.
- Coordinate implementation of an effective rolling weekly maintenance schedules with the Supervisor.
- Coordinate implementation of an effective long term maintenance forecast with the Workshop Manager QLD.
- Continually review maintenance schedules to advise on reallocation of resources in line with ever changing customer demands and operational requirements.
- Prepare key performance indicator analysis charts, reports and forecasts.
- Review actual completions against schedules to input into daily, weekly & monthly performance detailed summary reports.
- Recommend actions to mitigate delays or non-compliance with maintenance schedules.
- Develop plans for efficient and rapid correction of faults, breakdowns, effective ongoing maintenance, cleanliness and safety with minimum loss of availability.
- With the Supervisor, develop rosters including maintaining of holiday rosters and annual leave applications.
- Provide monthly work in progress reports, performance reports and production cost reports as required.
- Collaborate with Workshop Manager as required for upkeep of maintenance document control.
- Liaise with Workshop Manager,



Supervisor and Warehouse Logistics Coordinator to ensure optimum maintenance and provisioning programs in line with asset requirements, customer demands and operations team requirements.
- Participate in the long-range planning of production requirements, revenue and capital budgets and future labour or plant requirements.
- Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Workshop Manager.

Key Working Relationships

This position operates under the direct leadership of the Workshop Manager QLD, as well as approved policies, procedures, business operating plans, contracts and tasks allocated to meet operational and Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) requirements. The key working relationships are noted bellow but may vary with business and operational requirements.

- Management, employees and contractors working for One Rail Australia.
- Customers as required.
- Key supply chain stakeholders and participants as required.
- Existing and potential business suppliers and service providers.

About You

- 5yrs+ experience in a maintenance focused environment preferably with planning exposure.
- Experience in quantitative techniques and good mathematical judgment.
- Proficient in the operation of a planning software system i.e. SAP/FMMS/Maximo/AMS.
- Experience demonstrating a methodical approach to planning.
- Equipment and asset health monitoring experience.
- Condition based maintenance experience.
- Solid organisational, communications and planning skills.
- Front-line management, production management and/or demonstrated qualification in an engineering discipline.

- Proven relationship management strengths, with clear evidence in building successful stakeholder relationships.
- Team focused approach with a demonstrated commitment to proactively finding solutions to problems.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to interpret, process and analyse data and budgets.
- Use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word.
