The Salvation Army (Salvos) Doorways model of care provides holistic financial support to individuals and families seeking short term financial assistance and ongoing financial management support services. The Doorways Team provide person-centred trauma informed care, material aid, facilitate short-term financial assistance, and walk side-by-side with participants as they build the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty.

About the role

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring stock is accurately managed and goods are received, processed, and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for inventory control, order picking and packing, quality checks, loading and unloading deliveries, while also collecting donations and processing incoming material aid. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to positive outcomes for the community. Reporting to the Doorways Material Aid Team Leader, this is a permanent full time position, based on-site in Brunswick, VIC.

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award - Level 2.

How you will make an impact

- Maintain a safe and compliant warehouse environment by following Work Health & Safety procedures and contributing to a strong safety culture
- Manage stock control activities, including inventory management, stock monitoring, and processing material aid through the warehouse management system
- Load, unload, receive, and dispatch goods efficiently, ensuring quality checks and accurate record keeping
- Operate an MR truck to collect and deliver donations while ensuring vehicles are maintained in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition
- Represent The Salvation Army professionally, providing excellent stewardship of donated goods and supporting positive outcomes for the community





What you will bring

- Previous warehousing experience
- Workplace First Aid Certificate (highly regarded)
- A current VIC Medium Rigid (MR) Licence
- A current Forklift Licence
- A current VIC Employee Working with Children Check
