Reporting to the Business Analyst Practice Lead, this role will support the relevant Program and Project Manager to elicit, analyse and document business requirements, business rules, processes and other project artefacts to support successful project delivery.
The role will support governance, policy, accountability, regulatory, risk and compliance-related initiatives, requiring the ability to work with complex artefacts, navigate stakeholder feedback cycles and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
The Senior Business Analyst is expected to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and foster a team-oriented and supportive working environment while effectively managing competing priorities and supporting project delivery deadlines.
This is a 12-month maximum term contract based in Melbourne.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver Business Analysis artefacts and supporting documentation across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment to the Cbus Business Analysis Framework, governance, methods, templates, tools and quality assurance expectations.
- Manage iterative document updates through multi-layer stakeholder feedback cycles,
ensuring alignment, version control, governance readiness and clear traceability of changes, decisions and evidence requirements.
- Work with Project Managers, Analysts, Business SMEs and stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business requirements, business rules, processes, acceptance criteria and success measures.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to support requirements elicitation, policy and artefact review, impact assessment, decision-making and acceptance of business requirements.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across business, delivery, technology and external partner groups, balancing collaboration and accountability to support successful delivery outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated Senior Business Analyst experience within Risk and Compliance domains, preferably within financial services, superannuation or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience with CPS 230 and risk management uplift projects would be highly regarded.
- Proven capability to understand, analyse and document critical business operations, producing detailed process models and operational documentation that clearly articulate roles, processes, systems, risks, controls and key dependencies to support governance,
risk management and operational resilience outcomes.
- Established stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, engage effectively across business and delivery teams, and work constructively with internal and external partners.
- Strong business analysis capability, including requirements elicitation, document review, workshop facilitation, process mapping, gap analysis, impact analysis, traceability and evidence management.
