Recruitflex is proud to be partnering with UGL to recruit this First Nations Traineeship opportunity within their Telecommunications division – supporting UGL’s Reconciliation Action Plan and commitment to creating culturally safe workplaces, meaningful career opportunities, and long-term employment pathways for First Nations peoples.

The Role

As a Project Support Trainee, you will provide broad support to field management staff within the Telecommunications division, whilst also completing a Certificate III in Business throughout your first twelve months of employment.

The field management team manages the installation of telecommunications pits, pipes, conduits and ducting across diverse regional landscapes. To support this, you will be responsible for travelling to construction sites between Adelaide and Alice Springs, assisting with the inspection of works to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

This will include conducting and documenting inspections, verifying that works align with specifications and construction plans, submitting reporting on compliance, defects and risks, and updating work logs.

Additionally, you will communicate with landowners to update them on progress and assist with crop compensation paperwork,



collaborate with Project Managers, construction teams and contractors to resolve issues or risks, and perform associated administration tasks.

Full training is provided on the job, and your Certificate III studies will further support your growth and success within the role.

Please note: This role will require that you travel to regional locations with a colleague/buddy on a regular basis, staying locally for up to four nights between Monday and Friday. All travel, accommodation and meal costs will be covered by UGL.

Setting You Up for Success

UGL is focused on supporting you to commence your traineeship with confidence.

In week one of employment (commencing 10th August), you and your fellow trainees will all travel to Sydney to meet your managers and peers, learn about UGL, undertake some initial training, and participate in cultural immersion activities. This will be organised and fully funded by UGL.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

You don't need to have previous experience, as this formal traineeship chance will provide you with in-depth training and experience in administration, quality assurance,



stakeholder engagement and more.

To succeed in this position, you must feel comfortable interpreting technical drawings/plans, as well as having previous experience in using spreadsheets or similar computer software, at a basic level. Regular travel and stays away from home may be required, so you must be comfortable with both road and air travel.

Additionally, you like to be organised and manage your time efficiently, have very high attention to detail and love to work as part of a team.

You must also have a current driver's license, and either have or be prepared to obtain a White Card (site safety), which will be funded by UGL if needed.
