Employment Type: Permanent Full Time.
Position Classification: Social Worker Level 3, Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist.
Remuneration: $80,452 - $138,482 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging.
Hours per Week: 38.

Where you'll be working

The Moree Violence and Neglect (VAN) team consists of 4 staff. You are supported by the community Health team locally and the VAN network from the district. You will work closely with acute services, maternity, child and family health services and Aboriginal Health Unit staff.

The Opportunity

Child Protection Counselling Services (CPCS) provide specialised, trauma‑informed, counselling and casework services to children, young people (0‑18 years) and their families. CPCS usually provides medium to long‑term intervention (3‑18 months). Interventions are child‑focused and family‑centred, and aim to reduce further risk of abuse and harm as well as recovery from past traumatic experiences.

About you

We are seeking a motivated, organised, and resilient health professional with strong clinical skills and experience supporting children, families, and vulnerable populations affected by trauma, violence, abuse, and neglect. You will bring expertise in trauma‑informed, culturally responsive practice, with the ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, deliver evidence‑based therapeutic interventions, and manage risk within a child protection framework.

You will be an excellent communicator who builds strong therapeutic relationships and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies. Strong leadership, sound professional judgement,



and effective time management are essential, along with a commitment to reflective practice, ongoing learning, and providing compassionate, ethical care that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families.

Requirements

- Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Willingness to work a seven‑day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
