Why this role matters

The Rapid Response Team provides immediate, trauma‑informed support to women, and women with children, who are experiencing or recovering from family violence. Through crisis response, assessment, targeted interventions and coordinated referrals, the team delivers safe, effective and empowering support grounded in a feminist framework.

About The Role

As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner in our Rapid Response team, you will be instrumental in increasing safety, wellbeing and recovery for victim‑survivors during critical moments of need. You will deliver high‑quality crisis responses, outreach support and targeted interventions to women and children across community settings, motels and emergency accommodation. You will respond to referrals from The Orange Door, Safe Steps and self‑referrals, providing assessment, service planning and interim support that promotes safety, stabilisation and recovery. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a Fixed‑Term Full Time (negotiable Part‑Time 0.8 FTE) onsite role, contracted until June 2027, located in Windsor, Victoria.

Conditions

Compensation in accordance with the SCHADS Award – Level 5.





How You Will Make An Impact

- Build empowering client relationships that uphold self‑determination and align with the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Deliver crisis responses including assessment, safety planning, targeted interventions and immediate support
- Conduct ongoing assessments of client needs, risks and circumstances from intake through to exit
- Develop client‑led case plans with interventions tailored to safety, wellbeing and recovery
- Provide outreach support in community settings and motels, offering interim assistance and stabilisation
- Support access to holistic services including advocacy, referrals and community connections
- Identify and elevate risks to ensure safety for clients, staff and the organisation

What You Will Bring

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Experience in the family violence sector (desirable)
- Experience in specialist family violence and/or child wellbeing work (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated crisis response capability
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work autonomously
- Advanced computer and data management skills




- A current Employee Working With Children Check and Victorian Driver’s Licence
