THE ROLE

Experienced Business Services Manager to join a mid-tier, multi-office practice with over 100 staff. This is a key leadership role working closely with 1 Director, managing a capable team of 6 staff and servicing a diverse portfolio of quality SME clients.

The client base includes complex groups and larger entities, across a range of industries.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage a portfolio of business services clients, overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance obligations
- Provide strategic tax advisory services, applying up-to-date knowledge of Australian tax legislation to identify opportunities and mitigate risk for clients
- Delegate work effectively across the team, balancing workloads while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- Review the work of junior and intermediate accountants, providing constructive feedback to ensure technical accuracy and compliance standards
- Liaising with the ATO and other statutory authorities
- Coaching, mentoring and developing staff across multiple levels

This opportunity will suit a confident Manager who enjoys leading people while remaining technically hands-on.

You will bring:

- 6+ years experience within business services accounting. Demonstrated experience in a management is ideal
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian tax legislation
- Strong tax advisory skills
- Demonstrated ability to delegate and review work
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor lower-level accountants encouraging development of skills, both technical and interpersonal
- Confidence in working with clients to propose advisory and ‘other services’ work to help clients meet their overall business objectives
