Salary: $180,000 - $240,000 Super (Negotiable based on experience)
Vectura Recruitment is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator with Commercial Manager experience to join a well-established building contractor's commercial team and support the Senior Commercial Manager on a full-time, permanent basis, overseeing the commercial and contractual performance of a portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial leadership and oversight across a portfolio of projects, managing Contract Administrators and Estimating staff
- Take a lead role in tenders, including:
o Review of head contract and associated documentation o Assess commercial and contractual risks and develop associated mitigation strategies o Prepare head contract departures and tender clarifications o Manage post tender negotiations, including negotiation of head contract and commercial related matters o Prepare back to back amendments to downstream agreements o Understand insurance arrangements
- Assist project teams with head contract administration, progress claims and client commercial relationships
- Oversee major variations, extension of time claims and dispute resolution across the project portfolio
- Provide commercial risk assessment and advice to Project Managers and senior leadership
- Assist project teams with compliance with contractual obligations, procurement policy and reporting deadlines
- Mentor and develop Contract Administrators and junior commercial staff
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in construction management, law, quantity surveying or a related field
- 8 or more years of commercial or contracts experience in construction, including leadership of a commercial team
- Solid knowledge of standard form construction contracts such as Australian Standards suite of contracts and NSW GC21
- Excellent negotiation, financial analysis and reporting skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook The Opportunity
