As Senior Data
Analyst, Student Load Planning, you will play an important role in helping the University understand future student demand, forecast student load and revenue outcomes, and support strategic planning decisions across the institution. This position sits within Finance in a specialist planning and performance team that provides forecasting, analysis and insights to support admissions, budgeting and strategic planning activities across the University. Partnering with colleagues across Finance and the broader University, you will help shape forecasting assumptions, evaluate future scenarios and provide evidence-based advice to support decision-making.
Using analytical tools, forecasting models, and large, complex datasets, you will help the University better understand future student demand and respond to emerging opportunities and challenges. You'll also contribute to the ongoing improvement of student load forecasting methodologies, automation and reporting capabilities, helping to strengthen the University's planning and analytical capability. This role is ideal for a proactive analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, improving analytical approaches and using data to inform meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain student load and revenue forecasts, including scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis, to support budgeting, admissions planning and strategic decision-making.
- Analyse student demand, application, offer, conversion and enrolment data to identify trends, risks and opportunities that inform planning assumptions and institutional performance.
- Provide analytical support for institutional planning activities,
including admissions cycles, student load forecasting, annual budgeting processes and program fee setting reviews.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through reports, dashboards, presentations and briefings for a broad range of stakeholders.
- Design, maintain and enhance analytical models, automated workflows and reporting solutions that improve the efficiency, accuracy and scalability of planning processes.
- Ensure the integrity and quality of data, models and outputs through rigorous validation, documentation and quality assurance practices.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the University to provide expert advice, support evidence-based decision-making and build trusted working relationships.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of forecasting methodologies, data quality, reporting capabilities and analytical tools to strengthen the University's planning and decision-making capabilities. About you You are a curious analyst who enjoys solving complex problems and using data to influence strategic decision-making. You bring strong analytical capability, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate insights clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Requirements - Relevant qualifications in data analytics, statistics, economics, finance, business analytics or a related discipline,
or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience analysing complex datasets and delivering meaningful insights in a large or complex organisation.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and forecasting skills, with the ability to translate data into practical recommendations.
- Experience developing analytical models and workflows, reports and dashboards, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Power Query, R, Python or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-technical audiences.
