Senior/Staff Engineer | AI-native platform systems

Role Intro

This is a rare opportunity to join a lean team building an impactful AI Platform deployed across real world business.

This is a quality team, with strong architecture standards, who build reusable primitives on their Agentic platform that takes on real-world human like workflows in existing commerce with a focus on reliability, security and practical automation.

This is a hands-on IC role for a strong senior or staff engineer who enjoys ambiguous problems, sound architecture and high ownership. You will suit this if you like building reusable platform capability rather than one-off product delivery work.

About Us

The company is an Australian AI business with a remote team across Australia. The engineering team is small, senior and product-focused. The work sits at the point where AI agents, enterprise integrations, workflow automation and core platform engineering meet.

About You

You are a senior engineer who can take a complex problem, reason through the architecture and ship a durable solution. You have seen more than one way to build systems, can explain trade-offs clearly.

You are comfortable using AI coding tools, but you still bring the judgement needed to question outputs, review design decisions and keep production systems secure and maintainable.

Required Skills

- Strong TypeScript experience, with backend-heavy product engineering depth.




- Solid architecture judgement across scalability, security, maintainability and trade-offs.
- Platform mindset: able to build once, abstract well and reuse across multiple use cases.
- Comfortable working with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
- Practical use of coding agents or AI-assisted development, with enough experience to push back on poor outputs.

Nice to Have

- Experience building AI, agentic, workflow automation or integration-heavy products.
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS, multi-tenant systems, voice AI or customer operations platforms.
- Comfortable explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders when needed.

Benefits

- Salary: $160,000 to $170,000 base + super + equity, with flexibility up to $180,000 for a close fit.

Location: Fully remote across Australia.
