Role Description The Senior Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Brisbane, QLD, responsible for overseeing all estimating activities for commercial painting projects. This role includes reviewing drawings and specifications, quantifying materials and labor, and preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates and quotations.

The Senior

Estimator will coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to clarify scope, discuss pricing options, and adjust estimates as needed. Daily tasks involve analyzing project risks, maintaining estimating templates and cost databases, and supporting tender submissions and bid proposals. The role also includes monitoring actual project costs against estimates, refining estimating practices, and contributing to strategic pricing decisions to support business growth.



Qualifications

Strong estimating and cost analysis skills, including reading plans, quantifying materials, and preparing detailed project budgets.

Experience in commercial painting or construction, with solid knowledge of coatings, substrates, and typical building processes.

Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications used in tendering and project management.

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and propose cost-effective solutions.

Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal project teams.

Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on-site in Brisbane, QLD, and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.

Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, business, or a related field; equivalent experience in estimating will also be considered.

Understandings of safety standards and regulatory requirements in the Queensland painting industry
