Our client needs a Senior Finance Manager who can start immediately. This is a six-month fixed-term contract covering the full financial accounting, group reporting, treasury and tax remit, with a hybrid model that splits time between a Sydney office and home.

About our client

We are supporting a market-leading, PE-backed business as it prepares for a formal sale process, with the private equity sponsor now moving to exit. As a result there has been some internal secondments that have created the need for a Senior Finance Manager to join on a contract basis.

The role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will lead the Financial Accounting Team and take responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the Group's numbers. Alongside the technical work, you will provide accounting advice on changing standards, proposed transactions and financing arrangements.

What you will be responsible for

- Owning month-end delivery to deadline, covering bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journals, prepayments and provisions, then supporting monthly results and board reporting with the Group Financial Controller
- Compiling the annual consolidated Financial Statements and audit workpapers, working closely with external auditors and maintaining policies and systems in line with Accounting Standards and ASIC reporting requirements
- Managing taxation compliance across BAS, FBT, payroll tax, annual returns and other direct and indirect obligations, together with employee cost reporting




- Preparing daily and weekly cash flow and working capital forecasts, overseeing the debtor ledger with the credit control team, and managing banking debt covenants and lender reporting
- Acting as finance sponsor on the system transformation project, reviewing current state processes and shaping the future state design

What you will bring

- CA or CPA qualified, with a bachelor's degree in accounting or commerce
- Minimum eight years' experience in a comparable finance role
- Robust technical accounting knowledge, particularly Accounting Standards and ASIC reporting requirements
- Cash flow forecasting and treasury exposure
- Clear communication skills, including translating complex positions for people outside finance
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience highly regarded but not a prerequisite.
