Your role, your impact
Reporting to the Team Leader – Financial Crime (Fraud), you’ll use data, intelligence and investigation techniques to detect suspicious activity, reduce fraud risk and support regulatory obligations across the business. Specifically, you will:
- Monitor customer, transaction and payment activity for fraud risks
- Investigate unusual behaviour and assess potential financial crime concerns
- Prepare reports and escalate suspicious matters to authorities
- Identify emerging fraud trends and recommend risk responses
- Partner with risk teams and stakeholders on investigations
- Mentor analysts and support quality assurance activities
What you'll need to succeed You bring strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and a genuine interest in protecting customers and businesses from fraud. You enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively and turning complex information into transparent insights. You’ll also possess:
- Experience in fraud, financial crime or regulatory environments
- Proven ability to investigate and assess suspicious activity
- Strong capability in analysing data, trends and risk indicators
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to varied stakeholders
- Experience using monitoring, intelligence or fraud detection tools (Threat Metrix Experience Essential)
- Ability to balance accuracy, quality and competing priorities
- Exposure to Austrac Reporting Essential
