Senior Frontend Engineer

Location: Sydney CBD – In office 1 day/week

This is an Aussie-founded CaaS business built around answering the phone when businesses can't.

Think virtual reception, live call answering, and appointment scheduling, delivered through a proprietary cloud platform running globally, 24/7.

AI isn't a talking point here, it's how the team works. Everyone's on Claude, tickets get generated straight from meeting transcripts, and agents handle a meaningful share of PR review. When the team ran a recent AI sprint, most of what got built shipped straight into production, not shelved as an experiment.

It's also a small, trust-led team, real autonomy, real say in technical direction, and leadership that backs engineers rather than watching the clock.

The Role:

- You'll join a lean engineering function of around 15 full stack engineers, split into two squads, each building on React with a .NET back end.
- This requirement leans towards front-end. React is genuinely non-negotiable here, deep expertise, not passing familiarity. .NET fluency is a bonus, not a filter, if you're a genuine React specialist, that matters more than backend depth.
- Real, live work on offer, not maintenance. A client portal is about to be substantially rebuilt, and a contact centre UI is likely being rebuilt in-house to move away from a problematic third-party integration.
- AWS is the clear direction here, workloads are actively migrating off Azure. Genuine AWS experience is valued,



and there's real appetite for someone who can help train the wider team up as they go.

What you'll do:

- Architect, build and maintain complex front-end applications end to end, working closely with a .NET back end
- Take full-cycle ownership, from requirements through to production, with real influence over technical direction
- Help shape how a legacy monolithic build gets broken apart into cleaner, independently deployable pieces
- Work inside an AI-native delivery process, contributing to how the team uses AI responsibly and effectively, not just using it to write code faster
- Mentor and elevate junior and mid-level engineers, particularly on React best practice
- Own the full service lifecycle, build it, own it, run it

What you'll bring:

- 6+ years in software engineering, with deep, demonstrable React expertise
- Comfort working across the stack, ideally with some .NET or Node exposure, though this isn't the primary requirement
- Experience with distributed or microservices architecture, or a strong understanding of why it matters and how to get there
- AWS experience is a genuine plus, particularly if you can help train others
- Any real experience building with AI, not just using AI coding tools, is a bonus worth mentioning
- Confidence operating with autonomy in a small, lean team, and a genuine interest in mentoring others
