Canberra | On-site | Federal Government ICT Sustainment and Upgrade Program

PALAS Consulting is seeking an experienced Integration Lead for a significant Federal Government ICT sustainment and upgrade program commencing September 2026. This is a multi-year engagement, contracted yearly with extensions, supporting the sustainment, enhancement and integration of applications on classified networks.

The role suits a senior integration practitioner who can own the integration approach across a complex application estate, lead a small team of integration engineers, and work directly with program technical leadership and Commonwealth stakeholders. This is a leadership role with hands-on depth, not an advisory position.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the integration stream, setting the technical approach for application and service integration across the program.
- Design and oversee service-to-service integration, including APIs, middleware and messaging across a complex application estate.
- Plan and manage integration of systems across networks of differing classifications, including cross domain considerations.
- Lead, mentor and review the work of integration engineers within the stream.
- Produce and maintain integration designs, interface specifications and supporting technical documentation.
- Engage with the program's delivery leads,



architects and security stakeholders to resolve integration risks and dependencies.

Required Experience

- Extensive experience in systems and application integration, including service-to-service integration, REST and SOAP APIs, middleware and messaging.
- Demonstrated technical leadership of engineers or an integration workstream.
- Experience delivering within secure Federal Government environments.
- Robust written documentation and stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior delivery on classified Federal Government networks.
- Experience with cross domain solutions and data movement between classification levels.
- Familiarity with Microsoft based application estates, including SharePoint, the Power Platform and SQL Server.

Location and Working Arrangements

This role is Canberra based and primarily on-site. Commencement is expected from 1 September 2026, with candidates holding notice periods encouraged to apply early.
