Manager of Security

Location: Broken Hill Correctional Centre

Employment type: Ongoing, Full Time

Salary: $201,606.00 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation

We are seeking a proactive, committed, and professional Manager of Security to join the team at Broken Hill Correctional Centre. This is an ongoing position, offering the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the safety and security of the centre. The successful applicant will be required to complete a minimum tenure of three years in the role before being eligible to apply for rotational opportunities.

Your Role

The Manager of Security provides high level operational leadership and direction for management in small, medium and large correctional centres, this includes the coordination of the purposeful day, effective provision of security, inmate related services and ensuring the maintenance of staff discipline. Manager of Security roles also lead and direct special projects or specialised services within Corrective Services NSW.

What We’re Looking For

You will be highly enthusiastic and motivated to support and lead a culture of integrity and discipline within the team. In this role, you are required to maintain confidentiality, utilise your proven leadership experience and knowledge to meet the demands of the role. Your proven experience will enable you to make informative decisions for the effective operation of the correctional centre. Critical to your success in this role is your ability to be an innovative leader that is passionate about implementing workplace reform and effective performance development systems for our custodial staff.

Essential Requirements

- Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description
- Current and valid driving licence and willingness to travel within NSW

An additional one week of recreation leave is available to employees who are attached to locations within the Western and Central Division of the State in accordance with the Crown Lands Consolidation Act 1913 before its repeal.

A fortnightly Remote Area – Living Allowance is provided to staff who are attached to positions within select remote areas for the increased cost of living and the climatic conditions in a remote area.

Employees based in a remote area are entitled to an annual payment for recreation leave travel where they travel at least 480 kilometres in a 12‑month period.
